I’m a Data Sciences Institute Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto working with Dr. Shoshanna Saxe and Dr. Timothy Chan. My research focuses on optimizing the locations of bicycle infrastructure to provide equitable access to opportunities.
I hold a PhD in physics from the University of Toronto, supervised by Dr. Sid Goyal. I studied the bacteria-virus evolutionary arms race as found in the CRISPR system, a fascinating topic that has many diverse applications from human health to cheese making. I made mathematical models and computer simulations of interacting bacteria and viruses and worked on an open source tool to make CRISPR information more easily accessible for researchers and the public. Check out my thesis!
My BSc in physics is from the University of Waterloo. During my time at Waterloo I did research in quantum optics, materials science, and computational neuroscience.
